2016 Becoming a Foodies Dream!

One of the last great romances of our time is that between the senses and the brain, & one of our favorites is provided by our taste buds allowing us to experience cultures from all around the world without leaving the comfort of our communities.  2016 is gearing up to be a great treat (no pun intended) for residents of Flower Mound, Lewisville & Highland Village.  Many new restaurants have either recently opened or will be making their local debut within the year & the anticipation has us excited!

We have compiled some of the great establishments coming to the area so you can share in our excitement!

    1. Blaze Pizza

    LOCATION: Riverwalk at Central Park

Think Chipotle, Freebirds, Pie Five…much like these, Blaze Pizza is a choose-your-ingredient opportunity to craft your perfect pie.  Made from scratch dough, artisan ingredients and 180 seconds will have you smiling from ear-to-ear.  Their motto? Exceptional quality at lightning fast speed.  Coming Fall 2016.

    2. Carvao Prime Brazilian Steakhouse

LOCATION: Lakeside DFW – 2401 Lakeside Pkwy, Flower Mound TX 75022

Meat lovers rejoice. Flower Mound’s first Brazilian steakhouse was one of the first tenants to set up shop in the Shops at Lakeside.  Similar to Fogo De Chao & Texas De Brazil, Cavaro offers amazing meats served “Rodizio” style, with authentic Gauchos bringing the meats to your table on skewers.  Don’t forget the best part of a trip to any Brazilian Churrascarias, the amazing Pão de Queijo. Cavaro is currently open for Lunch on Fridays & Sundays & Dinner 7 days a week.

    3. Gloria’s Latin Cuisine

    LOCATION: Highlands Plaza

Anticipated to open this month, Gloria’s is branching out with both Flower Mound & Southlake locations.  The Texas staple, now around for over 25 years, has been serving amazing Latin with roots in El Salvador to a loyal customer base.  The product of immigrants Gloria & Jose Fuentes coming to America in 1978,  Gloria’s story is just as good as its incredible food.  From Tex-Mex favorites to Salvadorian traditional cuisine, there is something for everyone.  Opening fall 2016.

    4. Mi Dia From Scratch

LOCATION: 2601 West Windsor Dr, Flower Mound TX 75028

Mi Dia is proclaimed as being a fusion of old & new.  Combining great new flavors such as Hatch green & red chilies with old-time favorites has really caused a buzz.  Patrons are taken on a trip into the heart of old Mexico with traditional dishes all made from scratch.  Not stopping there, they also have a blended cocktail selection which also combines the old with the new.

    5. Steel City Pops

    LOCATION: Riverwalk at Central Park

Flower Mound is getting one of the hottest, or coldest, desert trends sweeping the South. Steel City Pops is set to open a location in the upcoming Flower Mound Riverwalk.  Steel City Pops makes delicious frozen Pops, similar to popsicles, but better in nearly every way. Made in small batches from the freshest all-natural or certified organic ingredients, Steel City Pops only sweetens their pops with raw, organic cane sugar & never use any artificial flavors or preservatives.  With locations in Dallas, Fort Worth & Garland, we recommend you swing by & get a taste before the Flower Mound shop opens towards the end of 2016.

    6. Tokyo Joe’s

    LOCATION: Riverwalk at Central Park

Another delicious restaurant coming to the Riverwalk at Flower Mound is Tokyo Joes. Tokyo Joes is a fast-casual Asian restaurant that makes a variety of salads, sushi & bowls.  Originally from Colorado, Tokyo joes prides itself on being a healthy, inexpensive alternative to fast food.  They only use the best ingredients & never use MSG or deep fry their food. Tokyo joes is offering two ‘Texas Only’ dishes on their menu, the first items is the Texas Roll, a sushi roll with shrimp, steak, red onion, cilantro, avocado & cucumber.  The second option is a Texas signature surf & turf bowl with steak, shrimp, sautéed veggies & served with teriyaki sauce & rice. Look for this exciting new option to open in the Riverwalk towards the end of 2016.

    7. Torchy’s Tacos

    LOCATION: Shops at Highland Village

We may have just saved the best for last.  TORCHY’S TACOS!  Offering tantalizing combinations of ingredients to make memorable tacos is the Torchy’s way.  From ‘The Republican’ complete with jalepeno sausage, pico & pablano sauce to the ‘Mr. Orange’ including salmon, grilled corn & queso fresco, there is truly something for every pallet.  Don’t forget to pickup some chips and homemade queso, just try to refrain from drinking it.  DISCLAIMER!
