ANOTHER LONG WEEKEND IS HERE! With Memorial Day weekend looming, families all across Dallas/Fort Worth are gearing up for getting out. If you are struggling to come up with something to do this Memorial Day weekend, we have compiled a few of the goings on around the Metroplex to help you out.
Enjoying DFW Lakes
One of the most popular activities is obviously getting out on the water and enjoying the area lakes. The benefit of all the rain we have experienced this Spring is that the lakes are filled and ready for all of your favorite activities from boating and fishing to swimming, paddle boarding and more! D Magazine compiled a great list of 10 area lakes perfect for whatever your heart desires, you can see them HERE.
Summerfest at Gaylord Texan
Just North of DFW International Airport in Grapevine, the Gaylord Texas Resort is kicking off its Summerfest activities this weekend. This year’s Alice in Wonderland theme includes a 3D light show, black light scavenger hunt, tea parties & their 10-acre pool and lazy river. For more details and ticketing information, click HERE.
Carry the Load Memorial March
This weekend is all about remembering our fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting the everyday rights we often take for granted. Sunday at Reverchon Park in Dallas, you can take part in the Carry the Load Memorial March honoring those servicemen and women who died defending our freedoms. The march last for more than 20 hours and you can walk for a few minutes or the entire time. More information on the event can be found HERE.
Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial
Our final suggestion with gorgeous weather in full swing (no pun intended) is this weekend PGA tour event hosted in Fort Worth, the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. This event is the longest-running on the PGA tour and something to cross off your bucket list if you’ve never been. With great food and more activities, it can be a great time for the whole family, not just golf enthusiasts. You can watch local favorites like Jordan Spieth dominate the field of pro golfers for a $50 daily admission. More information on the event can be found HERE.
