In February 2015 our family of three moved to Lantana, Texas. My husband and I decided it was the best place to raise our family, and having a 13 month old daughter we wanted her to have a safe and friendly neighborhood. Living in Lantana, Texas has been an absolute joy since the day we moved in.
I was born and raised in Texas so southern hospitality is normal to me, however, the day we pulled in with the moving truck even I was amazed with how friendly our neighbors were. Kids were outside playing, parents were out walking, and they all stopped by to introduce themselves and welcome us to the neighborhood. Our three closest neighbors are original owners in the community and were very excited to have a new neighbor. Our daughter has friended the girl next door, and just last weekend, we all walked to the playground two streets over for a play date.
The friendly neighborhood atmosphere is just one of our favorite things about living in Lantana, Texas. The community amenities and events are another great perk and were considered heavily when we made the decision to move to Lantana. There are five swimming pools, one with a splash park that our daughter loves. There are even pools you can rent privately for birthday parties, which truly come in handy when your child’s birthday is in July. Picnic on the Green is one of our favorite events to attend. They have several food trucks that come out and everyone brings chairs, blankets, balls and dogs to sprawl out on the lawn for a relaxing evening. A great seasonal event that we look forward to is the Monster Mile for Halloween.
Living in Lantana offers a few other perks that are included in your Home Owners Association dues.
- Front yard maintenance is included which keeps the neighborhood looking sharp and welcoming at all times.
- Monthly security monitoring is also included which adds another level of safety and security to both the community and individual households.
- Basic cable service from Grande Communications included in the HOA as well.
Neighbors in Lantana are in constant communication on social media as well, so if there is a lost dog or you need to know what neighborhood the ice cream truck is in, the Lantana, TX Facebook page is the one-stop place to go.
Our family is looking forward to learning more about the community and making many friends along the way. After our first year, our decision to move to Lantana has proved to be a positive, beneficial experience, and we are extremely happy to call it home.
